WebGIS projects are growing like "mushrooms"

WebGIS is a very handy and easy way to make geographic information and data available to the general public. The IMS-GIS data centre has been working a lot in the last months to prepare a series of WebGIS project in collaboration with various people and organisations. Currently there are two webGIS projects built for the Marine Spatial Planning (MSP) project led by Amelie Auge' at SAERI. Then, another webGIS has been created to provide the most up-to-date and official information on protected areas in the South Atlantic UKOTs. Finally another project has been completed for the Falkland Islands Development Corporation. The goal of the project is to provide the local community with baseline layers to understand the available renewable energy resource at sites across the Falkland Islands. All the webproject are available online at the section called "WebGIS - list of projects".

More projects are on the pipeline both in the Falklands and in other UKOTs. Watch this space!!
