VOLUNTEERS & INTERNS
We are always keen to hear from volunteers wishing to assist with our research!
Volunteering with SAERI can be an exciting and rewarding experience.
Why volunteer?
Volunteering is a great way to support important research and find out more about our ongoing projects.
Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, learn new skills and strengthen your CV.
Who can volunteer?
There is no minimum or maximum age as long as you can make a useful and safe contribution.
If you do not have a Permanent Residence Permit or Falkland Islands Status you may need a volunteering permit, which we can help you apply for.
Student placements can be arranged through your school, college or university.
How much time would I need to commit?
As much or as little as you can spare!
There is no minimum time commitment, although some projects may be for specific period of time.
Some additional time may need to be factored in for travel to/from remote locations.
Where can I stay?
Most volunteers are from the local community and have their own accommodation.
If a project requires overnight stays in camp (away from Stanley) accommodation will usually be arranged.
