The territories in the South Atlantic have embraced the good practice of data documentation.
In Ascension Island, the conservation officers are managing directly the data documentation and this is the most up-to-date metadata collection (January 2019).
In Saint Helena, documentation of environmental data will be soon responsibility of the new Research Institute. This is the metadata collection updated to January 2019.
The metadata collection in Tristan da Cunha is dated September 2017 and has ceased to be carried forward by SAERI as the British Antarctic Survey took over the data management of the island.
Few metadata were collected to document datasets originated from projects carried out for the Government of South Georgia and South Sandwich Islands (GSGSSI). The metadata has been last updated in April 2018. From that period onwards the metadata have been sent directly to the British Antarctic Survey which is the data manager for GSGSSI.
