
SELINA will provide guidance for evidence-based decision-making that supports the protection, restoration, and sustainable use of our environment. Through a collaboration of experts from 50 partner organisations, SELINA will set new standards for international cooperation to promote Ecosystem Services (ES), Biodiversity (BD) conservation and enhance Ecosystem Conditions (EC).
By providing robust practical information and recommendations to stakeholders from both the public and private sectors, SELINA aims to development and testing of methodologies to map and assess terrestrial and aquatic ecosystem condition to support better integration of ecosystem condition in public and private decision-making.
Refinement of the ES knowledge base by diagnosing, developing and testing the capabilities of existing ES assessment approaches models, and indicators, aiming to increase the likelihood of their uptake in the decision-making processes of key factors such as public administrations, civil society, businesses, NGOs and other relevant institutions.
SAERI will be delivering on Work Package 3 and 4 with a strong focus on delivering project outcomes that have impact on government policy and decision making. SAERI will be working closely with the Falklands Islands Government Department of Agriculture to develop new ideas, strategies and science for better land management, ecosystem services that align with the long-term Falkland Island sustainability goals.

Leibniz University Hannover leads a consortium of 50 partners (including SAERI).
On the islands, the key partners in the project are the Falkland Islands Government and the St. Helena Government.
