Remote sensing leverages satellite imagery, aerial platforms, and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) to capture high-resolution data about the Earth’s surface. Through integrated processes of data acquisition, analysis, and modelling, this approach enables the measurement and monitoring of environmental indicators and the establishment of ecological baselines. It provides critical insights into spatial patterns, ecosystem processes, and environmental change; including the impacts of climate change. This focal area is being developed through interdisciplinary research collaborations.
